MatteoDarmian is determined to earn a spot in the first team

During the 2015-16 season of the Premier League, MatteoDarmian made 28 appearances as the Italian defender was a consistent starter for Manchester United but now with the arrival of Jose Mourinho things are starting to take a turn for the worse as he is beginning to spend more time on the sidelines.

MatteoDarmian has not performed in any of the 3 opening league matches of Manchester United. Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull City are all of the initial adversaries of United but Darmian was not given any playing time at all in any of these matches.

Even though Darmian has been on the sidelines in these early stages of the season, the Italian player is eager to earn his spot in the first team of Jose Mourinhoas he said:

“I think it’s good to have such competition within the squad because there are a lot of good players for every position in a big team. You just have to be ready for when the manager gives you a chance. I think he’s a great manager, he’s very hungry and his victories and successes speak volumes for him. We want to improve this week to be ready for the first game of the season.”MatteoDarmian of Manchester United said.

The 26 year old defender was recently being linked with a summer move to As.Roma but the player himself has stated that he does not have any real desire of leaving Old Trafford and wants to stay with Manchester United and hopefully earn a spot back in the first team of the Premier League club.

Whether or not MatteoDarmian is able to get back with the first team is something that will be determined by the player himself and more importantly by Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese manager has the final say.
