Darmian: A Loss Making Deal for United

Manchester United had accepted yet another loss-making deal as they have allowed the defender Matteo Darmian to return to Italy. Italy Seria A club Parma has signed a four year deal with the player.

It is reported that Parma has paid around 3.6 million pounds to Manchester United to buy Darmian who was up for sale for quite some time. Manchester United was trying to offload the full-back for over a year but they could not find any suitor at his asking price. Finally, they have accepted a far lower bid for Parma.

Darmian Is Manchester United’s Emergency Man

Jose Mourinho, the manager of Manchester United, the Premier League Club said Matteo Darmian is his emergency man of the club as there were talks about his movement in the summer. Mourinho said Darmian may be used in central defense and full back positions if need be for Manchester United. And knowing the fact that Mourinho is more impressed with utility players all through his career, this is quite possible. The player did not play much in this season and there is less chance that he would play for United unless the club suffers from major crisis related to injuries. However, Mourinho has not stopped showing his trust for the ex Torino player and the comments post his side’s victory of 2-1 at Vicarage Road on Saturday against Watford.

While commenting on Ashley Young and Luke Shaw’s situation in the left – back team, Mourinho also spoke about Darmian. Both Young and Shaw are performing well as per the United’s manager. They are the players with distinct skills and they both have a good understanding as to who is new and experienced amongst them. This is indeed advantageous for Mourinho and his entire team besides having Darmian. Darmian is the emergency man for the club as he is ready to do anything, anytime for the fame and success of the United.

MATTEO DARMIAN: I WANT TO STAY AT UNITED

Manchester united defender Matteo Darmian has expressed his wish to remain with the red devils.

Darmian had been one of the many players to have benefited from the club’s poor form in the recent months.

Manchester united had had a very poor outing in the month of October and the following November. Even worse was for Darmian, as the club kept up a poor appearance at several outings, the team’s coach seemed to have absolutely no interest in using the Italian player in matches in his first few weeks at the club as manager.

As José Mourinho took over control of the club as coach, he seemed to have totally sidelined Darmian for the first few weeks as the Italian made no appearance at matches. While this might have been unfortunate for the Italian, he was not alone as his fellow teammates like Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger seemed as though they had been scheduled for an exit from the club.

However, with January fast approaching along with any chance for the Italian to make his exit from old Trafford, the news and circling rumors about Darmian leaving the club are gradually dying down. There have been media speculation about a possible transfer of the 27 year old in the recent months, but all rumors are gradually been dispelled. Continue reading

Darmian Wants to Stay

Matteo Darmian says the transfer in the winters is not in his thoughts right now.

Mourinho, after coming into power at United, had initially benched Darmian in the Premiership games and was trying him only in other competitions like Europa League despite that he warranted a place in the starting line up in the Premiership too on the basis of his previous season performance.

Darmian was said to be frustrated with his undeserving omission and a transfer in the middle of the season was almost certain, but, the injuries to the first choice defenders got him back playing in the Premiership recently. Now, the Italian seems okay at Old Trafford and his relationship with the coach seems to have turned sweeter too. Continue reading

SCHWEINSTEIGER LIFT

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney claims that the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich has given the entire squad a major lift going into the new season. The German international has been brought in for a transfer fee of around £ 15 million largely because he is entering into the twilight of his career. He is seen as a signing that can make an immediate impact into the first-team and one that can could possibly towards replacing Paul Scholes. Schweinsteiger will soon be 31 years of age, but United have signed him due to the various positive qualities that he offers.

He is the first German to be signed by the Red Devils, which makes it extra special. More importantly, Schweinsteiger is part of the spending spree that has taken an £ 80 million toll on the finances of the club. More signings are expected to arrive in the near future, but Rooney is most excited by the presence of Schweinsteiger. After all, the German has won everything at club and international level and he was recently a major force behind his national team winning the World Cup 2014. Rooney – alongside Schweinsteiger – will be amongst the experience of the candidates in the squad and they will be looking to lead the team with their experience.

“Bastian is a very experienced player who has won everything in the game and it’s great that he has chosen to join us and left a team like Bayern Munich to come here. Bastian speaks very good English so that’s a boost for the squad, too. He’s a fantastic player, he’s shown that over the years and it’s great that we’ve got him and I’m sure he’ll be a good player for us. And Morgan as well – it’s great to see Bastian, him, Matteo and Memphis all come in and give the squad a boost,” said Rooney.
